Job summary

JobSpace in New Zealand invites applications for an Assistant Restaurant Manager to help run our popular Indian restaurant in the Waikato Region. This role reports to the Restaurant Manager and will cover them when they’re away, aligning daily operations with service standards.

You will oversee staff, food and safety standards, assist with recruiting and training, manage stock, support marketing activities, and ensure excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ relevant/transferrable experience or a relevant tertiary qualification.
• Good working knowledge of Indian cuisine, menus and ingredients, as the role involves dealing with suppliers and liaising with chefs.
• Willing to work weekends and evenings.

We are looking for an Assistant Restaurant Manager to help manage our popular Indian Restaurant in the Waikato Region.

The successful candidate will work under guidance and direction from the Restaurant Manager, and will also "cover" the Restaurant Manager when they’re on leave or otherwise engaged.

Pay Rate:

• $28 to $32 per hour (depending on experience).

Hours:

As this is a full-time position, you will be guaranteed a minimum of 30 hours per week, but will likely be required to work approximately 40 hours per week, Monday to Sunday. As is common in the hospitality sector, work may also be necessary over weekends and evenings. The position is ongoing.
