Job summary

Tomi Ro Restaurant in Northwest Auckland is hiring a Restaurant Assistant Manager/Supervisor. The role is full-time with guaranteed 30 hours weekly and pay between $26.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience.

The candidate will lead FOH, supervise staff, handle rostering, customer feedback and reservations, and coordinate with Chefs on menus and promotions. NZ residency or visa required.

Qualifications

• Proven hospitality experience required.
• Diploma or higher in Hospitality or related field preferred.
• LCQ and Duty Manager certificates are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day restaurant operations for seamless service.
• Lead, train and mentor FOH staff to meet standards.
• Manage rostering, attendance and performance.
• Screen, interview, hire and train staff.
• Handle inquiries, feedback and complaints to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Check in with dining customers on quality of service.
• Review feedback and improve service delivery.
• Monitor reservations and optimize seating.
• Collaborate with Chefs on menus and promotions.
• Oversee stock, ordering of food and supplies.
• Uphold health, safety, hygiene and alcohol regulations.
• Oversee cash handling, POS and end-of-day reporting.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation throughout venue.

Well-established Tomi Ro Restaurant in Northwest Auckland is looking for a Restaurant Assistant Manager/Supervisor.

This is a full time, permanent position with guaranteed weekly working hours of 30 hours. We will offer the wage from $26.00 - $30.00 per hour based on your experiences and skills.

Qualifications:

• Relevant hospitality qualifications are preferred but not essential.
• A Diploma or higher in Hospitality, Tourism, Airline Service or Business highly regarded
• Current LCQ (License Controller Qualification) required
• Current Duty Manager Certificate or eligibility to obtain one

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day restaurant operations to ensure seamless and efficient service.
• Lead, supervise, train, and mentor Front of House (FOH) staff to uphold venue standards.
• Manage staff rostering, attendance, and overall performance.
• Screen, interview, hire, and train restaurant staff.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by handling inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally.
• Check in on dining customers to enquire about food quality and service.
• Review customer feedback to develop and implement ways to improve customer service.
• Monitor guest reservations and optimize seating arrangements.
• Collaborate with Chefs on menu planning, special promotions, and marketing events.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate the ordering of food, beverages, and restaurant supplies.
• Uphold restaurant policies regarding health, safety, hygiene, and strict compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act.
• Oversee cash handling, POS operations, and end-of-day financial reporting.
• Maintain exceptional cleanliness and presentation standards throughout the venue.
