Job summary

Catfe mao ltd, a popular bakery in Newmarket, Auckland, seeks an assistant manager to lead front-of-house and back-of-house teams. This full-time role guarantees a minimum of 30 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, with a competitive hourly rate of NZD 23.95–25.00.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about service, detail-oriented, and proactive, with at least 1 year in hospitality or a Level 4+ management/commerce qualification. Weekend availability and clear conduct are required.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year’s relevant work experience in hospitality industry, OR a relevant level 4 above qualification in management or commerce.
• Flexibility to work on weekends.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Have no criminal convictions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise efficient FOH and BOH teams and assign shifts
• Oversee staff’s compliance with all health code and sanitation requirements
• Work with staff to project future needs for store supplies, goods, and cleaning products
• Maintain inventory of all needed supplies to enhance sales
• Supervise workload and ensure effective working of store activities and maintain excellent standards to meet operational expectations
• Assist in hiring and training new employees as well as the continuous training of existing staff
• Respond to customer complaints quickly and resolve them effectively
• Coordinate with team to ensure customer satisfaction and follow company procedures to increase work efficiency
• Resolve staff grievances together with Café Manager
• Coordinate with Café Manager for everyday operation and maintain financial and administrative records
