Job summary

JobSpace in Rotorua, Bay of Plenty is seeking a motivated and reliable Assistant Manager to join our team. This position offers a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week, with an hourly rate between $28.00 and $32.00, depending on experience.

You will ensure smooth daily operation of the restaurant, lead by example, deliver outstanding customer service, plan staff schedules, interview, hire and train staff, handle inquiries and complaints, manage stock and pricing, and uphold safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of experience or level 4 or higher qualification in relevant field.
• Reliable and punctual.
• A clear and confident communicator.
• Calm and efficient under pressure.
• Ministry of Justice check and pre-employed drug test required.

Responsibilities

• ensuring that customers receive prompt service and quality goods and services.
• responding to customers' inquiries and complaints about goods and services.
• planning and preparing work schedules and assigning staff to specific duties.
• interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, dismissing and promoting staff, and resolving staff grievances
• instructing staff on how to handle difficult and complicated sales procedures.
• examining returned goods and deciding on appropriate action.
• taking inventory of goods for sale and ordering new stock
• ensuring that goods and services are correctly priced and displayed
• ensuring safety and security procedures are enforce
