Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking a full-time Restaurant Manager to oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, staff performance and efficient business operations. The role requires leadership to guide front-of-house teams, monitor service quality and coordinate with kitchen staff for smooth, high-standard operations.

You will recruit, train and manage staff, prepare rosters, handle customer inquiries and support budgeting and cost control.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of relevant management experience in a restaurant, café or hospitality business.
• NZQF Level 5 qualification in hospitality management, business management or related field.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and coordinate the daily operations of the restaurant.
• Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate restaurant staff.
• Prepare and manage staff rosters and staffing requirements.
• Monitor food and service quality to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Handle customer enquiries and resolve complaints when required.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient service and smooth restaurant operations.
• Monitor stock levels and arrange purchasing of food, beverages and restaurant supplies.
• Manage inventory control procedures and minimise wastage.
• Assist with budgeting, cost control and operational planning.
• Maintain operational records and prepare reports for management.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety and licensing requirements.
• Support marketing and promotional activities to enhance business performance.

Pay rate: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour depending on skills and experience

Requirements:

• At least 2 year relevant management experience in a restaurant, café or hospitality business; OR
• A relevant NZQF Level 5 qualification in hospitality management, business management or a related field
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
• Ability to manage staff and daily restaurant operations in a fast-paced environment
