You will work alongside qualified technicians, learn diagnostics of mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical faults, and participate in on-the-job training while attending trade school. Qualifications

  • Enrolled or committed to completing a Certificate in Heavy Automotive Engineering.
  • Interest in mechanical equipment and heavy machinery.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy with basic computer skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely use hand tools and follow workplace safety procedures.
  • Willingness to learn through structured training, on-the-job experience and trade school attendance.
  • Reliable, motivated, and team-oriented, with a positive attitude and commitment to personal and professional development.

Responsibilities
  • Assist qualified technicians with the inspection, maintenance, repair and overhaul of heavy equipment and machinery.
  • Learn to diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical faults while developing strong technical skills.
  • Safely operate workshop tools, equipment and lifting devices while maintaining a clean and organised work environment.
  • Successfully complete your apprenticeship training, attend required trade school and maintain training records.
