Job summary

Auckland City Mission – Te Tāpui Atawhai provides essential support for people facing poverty and isolation in Tāmaki Makaurau. This role supports clients in a residential program, including meal preparation and daily administration, while you learn and grow within a values-led team.

You will assist with planning, intake/discharge, medication supervision, and outings, contributing to a longer-term career with the Mission.

Qualifications

  • Level 4 qualification in addictions / mental health / Social Practice or Health Science.
  • Evidence of inter-personal and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Appreciation of multi-cultural context in NZ and Mission staff, volunteers and clients.

Job description

To provide support to AOD Professionals and to Clients. Assist in meeting the needs of clients, including keeping them engaged in all aspects of the residential program. Assist with meal preparation and routine administration.We value learning and growth. What you will be doing

  • Supervise participants while on outings or engaged in other activities as and when required.
What we are looking for
  • Level 4 qualification in addictions / mental health / Social Practice or Health Science.
  • Capacity to demonstrate through actions commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the Mission’s values of Manaakitanga, Atawhai, Rangapū and Mana Tika, Mana Ōrite.
  • Evidence of inter-personal and communication (written and oral) skills.
  • An appreciation of the multi-cultural nature of both New Zealand and the Mission’s staff, volunteers and clients.
  • Current Full NZ Driver Licence.
