Job summary

Auckland City Mission – Te Tāpui Atawhai provides essential support for people facing poverty and isolation in Tāmaki Makaurau. This role supports clients in a residential program, including meal preparation and daily administration, while you learn and grow within a values-led team.

You will assist with planning, intake/discharge, medication supervision, and outings, contributing to a longer-term career with the Mission.

Qualifications

• Level 4 qualification in addictions / mental health / Social Practice or Health Science.
• Evidence of inter-personal and communication skills (written and oral).
• Appreciation of multi-cultural context in NZ and Mission staff, volunteers and clients.

Responsibilities

• Engage with clients in the house as part of the residential program.
• Assist AOD professional with planning for each client.
• Assist with intake and discharge procedures.
• Oversee clients self-administering medication at set times and follow Mission protocols.
• Supervise participants during outings or other activities as required.
