Job summary

Sky Network Television seeks an Analytics Engineering Manager to guide a team shaping trusted, governed data for better decision-making. You’ll coordinate reusable data products and scalable analytics solutions across the business for reporting, insight, and decisions.

You’ll provide strong analytics engineering craft, offer SME guidance, and coach others through clear standards and shared technical practice. Travel to Mt Wellington or Auckland CBD is expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience across data, analytics, BI, or analytics engineering delivering enterprise-scale data solutions.
• Proven people leadership experience including line management, coaching and workload planning.
• Deep analytics engineering craft expertise with SME capabilities across data modelling, transformation, testing, release management, and reusable data product delivery.
• Experience shaping delivery priorities across strategic initiatives, BAU activity, and operational support.
• Strong understanding of modern data architecture and platforms (Snowflake, dbt, AWS, GitLab, CI/CD, Power BI).
• Confident stakeholder and communication skills to translate business needs into scalable analytics solutions.

Responsibilities

• Guiding, coaching, and developing the Analytics Engineering team with clear priorities and development plans.
• Coordinating the analytics engineering delivery roadmap across strategic work, BAU, projects, and operational support.
• Establishing and embedding standards for data modelling, transformation, testing, deployment, documentation, and governance.
• Offering SME guidance on analytics engineering craft and supporting shared technical practice.
• Working with BI, Data Engineering, Product, Technology and stakeholders to translate priorities into scalable data products.
• Ensuring data quality, lineage, security, accessibility, retention, and governance practices are embedded.
