Job summary

Potentia is seeking a Manager – Analytics to lead enterprise analytics across BI, advanced analytics, data modelling and Data Science.

You’ll build scalable data products, set standards, and guide a team of about 10 across BI specialists and data scientists.

This Auckland-based role offers a chance to transform analytics across a large organisation, with enterprise-wide AI potential.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience across Analytics, BI and/or Data Science.
  • Proven track record leading Analytics or Data Product teams.
  • Strong data modelling knowledge.
  • Solid understanding of semantic layers and modern BI tools.
  • Experience delivering advanced analytics use cases and Data Governance.

Responsibilities

  • Define and continuously improve the enterprise Analytics operating model.
  • Establish analytics standards, tools and development practices.
  • Lead the design and delivery of curated datasets.
  • Develop enterprise semantic models and reusable data products.
  • Oversee advanced analytics and Data Science solutions.
  • Support use cases including forecasting, predictive modelling and segmentation.
  • Drive adoption of analytics and AI capabilities across the organisation.
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise data definitions and governance.
  • Partner with Data Engineering on scalable data foundations.
  • Establish data validation, testing and quality assurance.
  • Drive reuse and standardisation of analytics assets.
  • Provide technical leadership across BI specialists and Data Scientists.
  • Promote self-service analytics and greater adoption of analytics products.
  • Build and develop a high-performing Analytics team.

Manager – Analytics

We’re looking for an experienced Manager – Analytics to lead the development of enterprise analytics capability across Business Intelligence, advanced analytics, data modelling and Data Science.

The focus is broader than traditional reporting.

You’ll lead the development of scalable, reusable and high-quality data products that provide the foundations for reporting, insights and organisational decision making, while establishing standards and technical direction across the analytics function.

You’ll lead a team of approximately 10 people, providing both people leadership and technical leadership across BI specialists and Data Scientists.

For the right person, this is an opportunity to shape how a large organisation moves from fragmented analytics towards a more mature, enterprise approach incorporating advanced analytics, reusable data products and AI.

What you must bring:
  • Extensive professional experience across Analytics, Business Intelligence and/or Data Science
  • Proven experience leading Analytics or Data Product teams
  • Strong understanding of data modelling
  • Strong experience with semantic layers
  • Strong knowledge of modern BI tools and analytics platforms
  • Experience delivering advanced analytics use cases
  • Understanding of advanced analytics and Data Science approaches
  • Experience working with scalable, reusable data products
  • Strong stakeholder engagement capability across technical and data teams
  • Demonstrated experience partnering closely with Data Engineering
  • Strong understanding of Data Governance
  • Ability to scale Analytics capability without creating fragmentation
  • Strong technical leadership across Business Intelligence and Data Science
  • Demonstrated people leadership and team development capability

This role is Auckland-based, and applicants must already be based in Auckland and hold full, unrestricted New Zealand working rights.
