Job description

Will You Help Us Bring the Future to the Table?

-We think you might.

At Munu, we’re on a mission to transform how restaurants and bars run, grow, and thrive. We blend a deep love for food and technology with bold ambition creating tools that simplify operations, elevate guest experiences, and empower hospitality teams to perform at their best.

You’ll join a fast-moving team scaling across the Nordics. We care deeply about quality, precision, and progress and we back it up with curiosity, humility, and a bias for action. We challenge ideas, not people. We share wins. We learn fast. And we never forget who we’re building for.

If you’re hungry to make an impact to move quickly, build smart, and help shape the future of an entire industry: Pull up a chair.

About the Role

At Munu, our mission is to empower hospitality businesses with intuitive, practical solutions that make their work easier, more efficient, and more enjoyable. Our product teams focus on critical areas like kitchen operations, booking management, and guest-facing experiences. We are now looking for talented Product Designers to join these cross-functional teams and help shape the future of our products.

As a Product Designer at Munu, you’ll be part of an autonomous product team with a clear mission and strong ownership. You’ll be the driving force behind design decisions and own usability and feasibility risks for your team’s products. You’ll collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders across the company to gain a deep understanding of our customers’ needs and design solutions that create real impact in their day-to-day operations.

Whether you’re streamlining high-paced kitchen workflows, improving booking processes for restaurants, or enhancing self-service experiences for guests, you’ll play a vital role in making sure our products are delightful, cohesive, and effective.

If you’re motivated by designing for real-world impact, enjoy solving complex problems, love talking to customers, and want to create tools that empower people in hospitality — we’d love to meet you.

Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept It

  • Lead and facilitate insight and discovery work, user research, testing, and iterative design activities throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Map, visualize, and connect customer journeys to identify pain points, prioritize opportunities, and align improvements with your team.
  • Design and articulate end-to-end user journeys that connect seamlessly across the Munu product ecosystem.
  • Contribute to defining clear experience metrics and collaborate with your team to track and improve them.
  • Deliver polished, high-quality design solutions while guiding the process from problem framing to implementation.
  • Facilitate workshops and co-creation sessions with users, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Help evolve our design tooling, including design systems and methods, to improve both design and business outcomes.
  • Advocate for our end users and foster a human, inclusive, and privacy-centered design culture.
  • Drive Munu’s goals forward measured by outcomes, not just deliverables.

You’ll Thrive in This Role If You Value…

  • A dedicated team that collaborates toward shared goals over time.
  • Supportive leadership committed to your growth and development.
  • An environment that embraces modern, iterative design and discovery methods.
  • Opportunities to work closely with passionate customers in the food and hospitality industry.
  • The chance to join a scale-up with big ambitions and play a key role in shaping our products and culture.
  • Contributing to the growth of Munu’s design and product culture.

What Success Looks Like

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in UX, UI, Service, or Product Design.
  • High agency, a bias toward action, and a strong appetite for driving results.
  • Expertise in mapping service processes and creating intuitive customer journeys and experiences.
  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, able to present ideas convincingly to diverse audiences.
  • Experience working in an agile environment with cross-functional and distributed teams.
  • Familiarity with application development and designing for multiple interfaces (mobile, web, API) is a plus.
  • Fluency in English and Norwegian/Swedish/Danish, both written and spoken (many of our customers prefer to communicate in Norwegian).
  • Knowledge of the hospitality industry is a bonus, but a passion for solving complex problems and designing delightful experiences is essential.

What Makes This Opportunity Different

  • You’ll be part of a company with deep industry knowledge and a mission that matters: empowering hospitality teams with better tools.
  • You’ll shape how a core business function is built, scaled, and refined not just follow a playbook.
  • You’ll work with smart, kind, ambitious people across the Nordics with zero ego and full accountability.
  • You’ll have the freedom to test, fail, learn, and try again with the support and tools to do your best work.
  • You’ll grow with us — this role has room to evolve.

Who We Are

Munu is a Norwegian scale-up rethinking how restaurants and bars operate and thrive. Since 2016, we’ve helped over 2,000 hospitality venues run smarter with our Munu Cloud platform, integrating everything from POS and booking to inventory and payments. Our customers range from local gems to national brands, and our reach is growing fast across the Nordics.

Backed by strong investors and built by a team that lives and breathes hospitality, we’re committed to growing sustainably without compromising on trust, creativity, or simplicity. At Munu, we empower our customers — and we empower our people.

If you’re ready to build something that matters, we’d love to meet you.

Let’s bring the future to the table.
