Job summary

Nystua Skeikampen is operated by Resthon AS, the restaurant and hospitality division of Thon Group. We are seeking a hands-on Head Chef for the 2026–2027 winter season, starting 1 December 2026, to lead the kitchen at our mountain destination.

You will oversee daily kitchen operations, lead a kitchen team, and drive food safety, quality, and guest experiences in a dynamic setting. Accommodation support and career development within Resthon/Thon Group are available.

Qualifications

Head Chef or Sous Chef with leadership responsibilities
Culinary qualification or equivalent experience
Confident, inspiring leader
Understanding of efficient operations and quality management
Solid knowledge of food safety and professional kitchen operations
Thrives in a fast-paced and varied working environment
Structured, solution-oriented, and quality focused
Motivated by developing people and building strong teams
Communicates well in English or a Scandinavian language

Responsibilities

Daily leadership and operational management of the kitchen
Personnel responsibility for the kitchen team
Staff scheduling and workforce planning
Ordering, receiving, and managing stock and inventory
Ensuring strong routines for food safety, health & safety, and internal control procedures
Actively working to reduce food waste
Managing supplier relationships
Planning and executing events, functions, and group bookings
Working closely with the General Manager and the rest of the management team
