Job summary

Nystua Skeikampen, operated by Resthon AS, part of Thon Group, seeks a hands-on Head Chef for the 2026–2027 winter season. Start date 1 December 2026. Lead daily kitchen operations, manage staff, ensure food safety, and deliver memorable guest experiences in a mountain setting.

The successful candidate will inspire and develop a talented kitchen team, collaborate with senior leadership, and receive accommodation assistance and strong career opportunities within Resthon and Thon Group.

Qualifications

Head Chef or Sous Chef with leadership responsibilities.
Culinary qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
Solid knowledge of food safety and professional kitchen operations.
Good communication in English or a Scandinavian language.

Responsibilities

Lead daily leadership and operational management of the kitchen.
Personnel responsibility for the kitchen team.
Staff scheduling and workforce planning.
Ordering, receiving, and managing stock and inventory.
Ensuring strong routines for food safety, health & safety, and internal controls.
Reduce food waste actively.
Manage supplier relationships.
Plan and execute events, functions, and group bookings.
Collaborate with General Manager and management team.
