Job summary

Nystua Skeikampen, operated by Resthon AS, part of Thon Group, seeks an enthusiastic Head Chef for the 2026–2027 winter season starting 1 December 2026. You will lead daily kitchen operations and inspire a team in a high-quality hospitality setting.

The role combines hands-on cooking with leadership, overseeing menus, food safety, stock, and events, while collaborating with general management. Accommodation support and strong career development within Resthon and Thon Group are offered.

Qualifications

• Has experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef with leadership responsibilities.
• Holds a culinary qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
• Is a confident and inspiring leader.
• Has a good understanding of efficient operations and quality management.
• Has solid knowledge of food safety and professional kitchen operations.
• Thrives in a fast-paced and varied working environment.
• Is structured, solution-oriented, and quality focused.
• Is motivated by developing people and building strong teams.
• Communicates well in English or a Scandinavian language.

Responsibilities

• Daily leadership and operational management of the kitchen
• Personnel responsibility for the kitchen team
• Staff scheduling and workforce planning
• Ordering, receiving, and managing stock and inventory
• Ensuring strong routines for food safety, health & safety, and internal control procedures
• Actively working to reduce food waste
• Managing supplier relationships
• Planning and executing events, functions, and group bookings
• Working closely with the General Manager and the rest of the management team
