Ikm Gruppen AS in Stavanger, Norway, seeks an experienced telecom design engineer for offshore projects. You will perform detailed telecom design, estimate tasks, prepare packages, and follow up deliveries, with inspections onshore and offshore.

The role requires coordinating with suppliers and completing as-built documentation. Requirements include a 5+ year offshore engineering background, expertise in telecom systems and fiber optics, ATEX standards knowledge, and valid EX/FSE/AT/SJA

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecom, Instrumentation, or Automation (or related Technical College degree with extensive experience)
• Minimum 5 years' offshore engineering experience
• Strong design/modifications background on offshore installations
• Deep knowledge of telecom systems, network infrastructure, and fiber optics in oil industry
• Knowledge of ATEX and industry requirements
• Valid EX, FSE, AT/SJA, and offshore health/safety certificates
• Willingness to travel offshore
• Language: Norwegian or English

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed design of telecom tasks and participate in studies.
• Estimate tasks, prepare job packages, and follow up on deliveries.
• Conduct discipline checks of design basis, including drawings and studies.
• Follow up with suppliers and manage package responsibilities.
• Participate in pre-testing (FAT) at supplier locations.
• Conduct inspections both onshore and offshore.
• Assist in training new engineers.
• Complete as-built documentation.

Required expertise

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecom, Instrumentation, or Automation; or a Technical College degree with extensive relevant experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in offshore-related engineering projects.
• Strong background in engineering design and modifications on operational offshore installations.
• In-depth knowledge of telecommunication systems, network infrastructure, and fiber-optic technologies used in the oil industry.
• Good knowledge of relevant standards such as ATEX and industry requirements.
• Must hold valid EX, FSE, AT/SJA, and offshore health/safety certificates.
• Ability to travel for offshore work as required.

• Duration: Fixed-term assignment from November 2026 to November 2028.
