Job summary

Head Energy Group in Norway seeks a Senior Telecom Engineer to lead detailed telecom design tasks and prepare job packages for offshore projects.

Requirements include a 5+ year offshore track record, a degree in telecom/instrumentation/automation (or equivalent technical college with experience), plus knowledge of ATEX and fiber-optic networks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecom/Instrumentation/Automation.
• Or a Technical College degree with extensive Oil & Gas engineering experience.
• Minimum 5 years in offshore-related projects.
• Strong engineering design experience.
• Knowledge of ATEX requirements and client systems.

Responsibilities

• Detailed design of telecom tasks.
• Participate in studies.
• Estimate telecom tasks.
• Prepare job packages and follow deliveries.
• Discipline check of design basis (studies, drawings, job packages).
• Coordinate with suppliers and package owners.
• Participate in pre-test/FAT at supplier.
• Attend offshore/onshore inspections.
• Able to take training responsibilities for new engineers.
• Perform as-built documentation.

Job Description:

• Detailed design of telecom tasks
• Participate in studies
• Estimate telecom tasks
• Prepare job packages and follow up on deliveries
• Discipline check of design basis (studies, drawings, and job packages)
• Follow up with suppliers, package responsibility
• Participate in pre-test/FAT at the supplier
• Participate in inspections onshore/offshore
• Able to take on training responsibilities for new engineers
• Perform as-built

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecom/Instrumentation/Automation
• Alternatively, a Technical College degree with extensive experience in Engineering projects on the Norwegian Oil and Gas industry
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in offshore-related projects.
• Strong experience in engineering design
• Good knowledge of standards such as ATEX, requirements, client systems and methodes
• Extensive knowledge of modifications on operational offshore installations
• Strong knowledge of telecommunication system, network infrastructure and fiber‑optic technologies used in the oil industry
• Proficiency in Norwegian, both spoken and written
• Alternatively, strong English skills, both spoken and written
• EX - Basic EX course
• FSE - High and low voltage, included first aid
• AT / SJA
• Offshore certificate og health certificate
