Job summary

Energy AS, Stavanger, Norway, seeks an experienced Safety Engineer to support FEED and early studies in offshore oil & gas projects. You will contribute to offshore process safety design, risk assessment, and compliance with NORSOK, PTIL, ISO, PSA, and API standards.

You will work within the technical safety team, coordinating with multi-disciplinary groups to ensure safety integrity, area classification and fire and gas/ESD safety across projects. Fluent Norwegian and English are required.

Qualifications

• Master or Bachelor degree in relevant topics.
• Experience in Oil & Gas on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS).
• Proficient communication in Norwegian and English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Work within the technical safety team across FEMA areas such as FSA, SIL, area classification, F&G/ESD.
• Engage in offshore process safety design, HAZOP/HAZID/LOPA, WHERA, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate on external environment considerations: energy demand, emissions, and safety related requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

As part of the technical safety team you will have the opportunity to work in some of the following areas:

• Functional Safety Engineering (FSA)
• Safety integrity level (SIL)
• Area classification
• Fire and Gas (F&G) / Emergency shut down (ESD)
• Escape routes and evacuation means
• Passive and active fire protection (PFP)
• Working environment (WHERA, chemical risk analysis, Human factors)
• External environment (BAT assessment, environmental budget, energy demand, air emissions, discharge to sea, chemical usage)

Required Education:

Master or Bachelor degree within relevant topics

Required Work Experience:

Work experience within the Oil&Gas industry in the NCS

• Experience with FEED and early study projects (preferred)
• Experience and knowledge of offshore process and process safety design
• Experience with HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, WHERA
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, i.e. NORSOK, PTIL, ISO, PSA, API standards etc
