NES Fircroft in Stavanger is seeking a Senior/Principal Engineer for Technical Safety. The role focuses on functional safety, SIL, F&G/ESD, area classification, and fire protection within offshore projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

The candidate should hold a Master or Bachelor degree in a relevant field and possess oil & gas experience on the NCS, with knowledge of FEED and safety design principles. Strong Norwegian and English communication is expected.

Qualificações

• Bachelor or Master degree in relevant topics.
• Oil & Gas experience on the NCS is required or desirable.
• Experience with FEED and early study projects preferred.
• Knowledge of offshore process safety design and relevant standards (NORSOK, PTIL, ISO, PSA, API).

Responsabilidades

• Contribute to Functional Safety Engineering (FSA) tasks.
• Assess SIL, area classification and Fire & Gas (F&G) / Emergency Shutdown (ESD).
• Plan and review escape routes and evacuation means.
• Support passive and active fire protection (PFP) activities.
• Support WHERA, chemical risk analyses and human factors.
• Engage with offshore projects and ensure regulatory compliance.

Technical Safety - Senior / Principal Engineer

Contract period: 30.11.2026 - 31.01.2028
Location: Stavanger

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• As part of the technical safety team you will have the opportunity to work in some of the following areas:
• Functional Safety Engineering (FSA)
• Safety integrity level (SIL)
• Area classification
• Fire and Gas (F&G) / Emergency shut down (ESD)
• Escape routes and evacuation means
• Passive and active fire protection (PFP)
• Working environment (WHERA, chemical risk analysis, Human factors)
• External environment (BAT assessment, environmental budget, energy demand, air emissions, discharge to sea, chemical usage)

Qualifications:

• Master or Bachelor degree within relevant topics
• Work experience within the Oil&Gas industry in the NCS
• Experience with FEED and early study projects (preferred)
• Experience and knowledge of offshore process and process safety design
• Experience with HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, WHERA
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, i.e. NORSOK, PTIL, ISO, PSA, API standards etc
• Have good communication skills, orally and written, in Norwegian and English
• Have a cooperative working attitude
• Be systematic and accurate
• Have a high loyalty to deadline and quality requirements
• Have a high degree of self learning skills
