Job summary

Mercury is seeking a Commercial Lead for Kristiansand, Norway. The role oversees contract compliance, risk reporting, and commercial management across multimillion-euro projects within a leading European construction solutions group.

The candidate will lead the commercial team, manage subcontractors, forecast cash flow, and ensure accurate budgeting while collaborating with procurement and design teams in a high-stakes environment.

Qualifications

• University qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Commercial Management, or equivalent (e.g. engineering).
• 5+ years’ experience post qualification in a large onsite environment (contracts > €200m).
• Experience with large civil and ground works; data centre experience preferred.
• Excellent English language skills; Finnish language skills desired.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with contract obligations and monitor compliance with construction team.
• Identify potential commercial risks and report to management.
• Prepare monthly progress applications with accurate remeasurements, variations, dayworks, or claims.
• Procurement support in conjunction with the Procurement Department.
• Manage subcontractor accounts from award to interim valuation and final account.
• Forecast turnover and cash flow for projects; ensure reliable reporting.
