Job summary

Mercury Engineering is seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to lead the project Commercial Team on major on-site civil and data centre projects across Europe. Your role will cover commercial and quantity surveying functions, procurement, subcontractor accounts, budgeting and cash flow, risk reporting and team coaching.

Qualifications

• University qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Commercial Management (or equivalent).
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in a large onsite environment with contract values over €200m.
• Solid experience with large civil and ground works; data centre experience desired.
• Excellent IT and English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project Commercial Team and support the construction team on commercial and quantity surveying functions.
• Identify commercial risks and report them promptly to management.
• Prepare monthly progress applications with accurate remeasure, variations, dayworks or claims.
• Procurement activity and contract support in conjunction with Procurement Department.
• Manage subcontractor accounts from award to interim valuation, variations and final account.
• Forecast turnover and cash flow of the projects.
• Review project reporting to ensure accuracy and alignment with policies.
• Identify trends and provide data/analysis of issues and risks for management.
• Improve and implement best practice commercial processes and budgeting.
• Lead and coach commercial team members in cost management methods.
