Job summary

McKinsey & Company seeks an Oslo-based Human Resources Specialist to cover parental leave for 18 months starting January. As the sole local HR contact, you’ll manage day-to-day HR, payroll coordination, and policy guidance for the Oslo office, reporting to the Nordic HR Manager in Stockholm and collaborating with the Nordic HR team.

You’ll partner with managers on employee relations, onboarding/offboarding, and HR projects, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality across the employee

Qualifications

• University degree in HR or related field.
• 5+ years' experience in an international organisation with HR operations and manager support.
• Knowledge of Norwegian employment legislation and local HR practices.
• Hands-on experience with HR systems, employee records and payroll inputs.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to build trusted relationships and advise managers on complex matters.
• Service-oriented approach with discretion and confidentiality.
• Collaborative mindset and experience contributing to HR projects and processes.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the day-to-day HR contact for the Oslo office and manage local HR delivery.
• Coordinate payroll inputs and liaise with payroll colleagues as needed.
• Provide guidance on HR policies, benefits, and employment-related questions.
• Partner with managers and office leadership on people-related issues and employee relations.
• Support compliance with Norwegian employment law and firm policies.
• Lead local and Nordic HR projects and process improvements.
