Job summary

Neuver Maritime is seeking an HR & Payroll Specialist to own the Norwegian payroll processes, ensure accuracy, and liaise with an external provider as needed. You will work closely with the VP HR and support day-to-day HR activities, including onboarding, contracts, data management, and compliance.

You will contribute to developing our payroll operating model and may bring payroll activities in-house over time, with a hands-on, collaborative approach in a small, international team.

Qualifications

• Solid Norwegian payroll experience.
• HR experience is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Norwegian employment legislation is preferred.
• Experience with HR/payroll systems is an advantage.
• Relevant education is desirable, but experience may compensate.
• Good Norwegian and English

Responsibilities

• Take internal ownership of our Norwegian payroll process and ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery.
• Perform payroll controls and quality assurance before and after payroll runs.
• Ensure compliance with applicable payroll, tax, reporting and employment-related requirements.
• Prepare, validate and follow up payroll data and documentation.
• Act as the main HR contact towards our external payroll provider.
• Identify discrepancies, investigate root causes and ensure corrections are implemented.
• Maintain payroll procedures, controls and documentation.
• Support reconciliations and collaborate closely with Finance.
• Contribute to developing and improving our future payroll operating model.
• Be prepared to take on more hands-on payroll processing should payroll be brought partly or fully in-house.
• Support employee lifecycle processes and HR administration during operational HR tasks.
• Maintain accurate employee data in HR systems and support absence and working time processes.
