Thon Gruppen seeks a Hands-on Head Chef for Nystua Skeikampen, a premier mountain destination in Skeikampen, Norway, for the 2026–2027 winter season. Start date 1 December 2026.

You will lead the kitchen, manage a team, and shape the guest experiences in a high-quality, hospitality-focused environment. Ideal candidates bring leadership experience as Head or Sous Chef, a culinary qualification, and a passion for developing people within a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Experience as Head Chef or Sous Chef with leadership responsibilities.
• Culinary qualification or equivalent experience.
• Confident and inspiring leader.
• Strong understanding of efficient operations and quality management.
• Solid knowledge of food safety and professional kitchen operations.
• Thrives in fast-paced and varied environment.
• Structured, solution-oriented, and quality focused.
• Motivated by developing people and building strong teams.
• Communicates well in English or a Scandinavian language.

Responsabilités

• Daily leadership and operational management of the kitchen.
• Personnel responsibility for the kitchen team.
• Staff scheduling and workforce planning.
• Ordering, receiving, and managing stock and inventory.
• Ensuring strong routines for food safety, health & safety, and internal control procedures.
• Actively working to reduce food waste.
• Managing supplier relationships.
• Planning and executing events, functions, and group bookings.
• Working closely with the General Manager and the rest of the management team.
