Job summary

Wilhelmsen - Careers at Sea seeks an experienced Master to lead a cruise vessel on international itineraries. The successful candidate will act as the ship's ultimate authority and represent the company and the ship owner in all operations.

Required is a valid Class 1 Master license with STCW 95 amendments, extensive cruise-line experience, strong leadership and interpersonal skills, and fluent English plus at least one Scandinavian language.

Qualifications

• Advanced ice navigation training is required.
• Valid Class 1 Master license and STCW 95 amendments.
• Extensive cruise-vessel experience on international itineraries.

Responsibilities

• The Master is the ultimate authority on the ship.
• Act as the Company’s and the ship owner representative during operations.
• Candidates will undergo standard pre-employment checks, including medical and drug/alcohol testing.

Job description

• The Master is the ultimate authority on the ship
• The Company’s and the ship owner representative
• Relevant experience as of Master or other relevant experience from the Cruise segment.
• Experience from cruise vessels operating on international itineraries
• Advanced ice navigation training
• Valid class 1 Masters license and certificates according to STCW 95 as amended
• Good knowledge about maritime rules and regulations (SOLAS, STCW, MARPOL, MLC)
• Good knowledge of the requirements under USPH and USCG
• Great leadership skills
• Fluent command in English and a Scandinavian language
• Great interpersonal skills and good team leading ability
• Good references
