Job summary

Wilhelmsen - Careers at Sea is seeking a Staff Captain for cruise vessels, with responsibility as Officer of the Deck and Ship Security Officer. The successful candidate will hold a valid Master license and STCW credentials, lead crews, and ensure compliance with international maritime rules.

You must have 2+ years as Staff Captain or equivalent experience, fluent English and a Scandinavian language, and the ability to pass comprehensive pre-employment checks including medical and drug/alcohol

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as Staff Captain or related cruise industry role.
• Valid class 1 Masters license and STCW 95 certificates.
• Strong knowledge of SOLAS, STCW, MARPOL, MLC.
• Familiar with USPH and USCG requirements.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills.
• Fluent in English and a Scandinavian language.
• Strong references and ability to pass pre-employment checks.

Required qualifications and competences:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in the capacity of Staff Captain or other relevant experience from the Cruise Industry
• Valid class 1 Masters license and certificates according to STCW 95 as amended
• Good knowledge about maritime rules and regulations (SOLAS, STCW, MARPOL, MLC)
• Good knowledge of the requirements under USPH and USCG
• Great leadership skills
• Fluent command in English and a Scandinavian language
• Great interpersonal skills and good team leading ability
• Good references
• As part of our hiring process, candidates will undergo standard pre-employment checks, including medical and drug/alcohol testing

Beneficial experiences:
