Job summary

Wilhelmsen - Careers at Sea in Oslo seeks a Chief Officer Maintenance to lead maintenance of deck spaces aboard our vessels. You will take charge of life-saving appliances and ensure safe, compliant operations at sea.

You must have at least 2 years' experience as Chief Officer in charge of maintenance, hold a Class 1 Masters license, and be fluent in English. The role requires leadership, teamwork, and readiness for pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol checks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as Chief Officer in charge of maintenance.
• Valid Class 1 Masters license and certificates according to STCW 95 as amended.
• Good knowledge of maritime rules and regulations (SOLAS, STCW, MARPOL, MLC).
• Fluent English with strong interpersonal skills and team leadership.

Responsible for maintenance of vessels deck spaces

Responsible for maintenance of shipboard life savings appliance

In charge of ballast water management and record keeping

Required qualifications and competences:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in the capacity of Chief Officer in charge of maintenance
• Valid class 1 Masters license and certificates according to STCW 95 as amended
• Good knowledge about maritime rules and regulations (SOLAS, STCW, MARPOL, MLC)
• Great leadership skills
• Fluent command in English
• Great interpersonal skills and good team leading ability
• Good references
• As part of our hiring process, candidates will undergo standard pre-employment checks, including medical and drug/alcohol testing
