Job summary

Hiab, the global leader in load-handling equipment, is seeking a Product Support Engineer & Trainer to be based at the Meppel branch. You will balance hands-on technical support with delivering customer-focused training across the Netherlands and Belgium, develop custom PLC solutions, prepare quotations, and feed field insights back to manufacturing.

You will plan, develop and deliver technical training sessions while collaborating with Sales, Service, and Customer teams to ensure service

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification at HBO or MBO level 4.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.
• Broad and in-depth knowledge of hydraulics, electronics, PLC technology, vehicle technology, and mechanics.
• Strong instructional skills to convey knowledge effectively.
• Strong analytical thinking, numerical and cost-conscious insight, and knowledge of business processes.
• Excellent skills with PCs, remote support software, and measuring equipment.
• Fluent/Native Dutch language and good command of English; French is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Providing on-site, phone, and remote technical support to customers, dealers and service centers.
• Advising internal departments on sales and installation/assembly of cranes and demountables.
• Developing and testing customer-specific PLC control solutions.
• Preparing quotations for modifications or overhauls and managing product recalls.
• Feeding field experience back to manufacturing to drive improvements locally and globally.
• Planning, developing and delivering technical training sessions in the Netherlands and Belgium.
• Creating work instructions and training documentation.
• Providing clear delivery instructions during handover of HIAB products.
