Job summary

Novotel Amsterdam City is seeking a Team Leader Event Sales to lead the MICE reservations team and oversee reservations for meetings and events. You will inspire colleagues, manage workflows, and drive improvements in the sales process.

You will act as the main point of contact within the department, coordinating with operations to deliver superior guest experiences for events ranging from 2 to 450 attendees and ensuring seamless handovers across departments.

Qualifications

• MBO level 4 education or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar hotel role.
• Proficient in automated reservation systems and English Fluent.

Responsibilities

• Lead the back office of the sales team and handle all group and individual reservations.
• Ensure MICE requests (2–450 people) are managed with excellent service.
• Coordinate with operations to ensure smooth handover and guest satisfaction.

Novotel Amsterdam City has 610 rooms and 1,300 m² of meeting space spread across 20 rooms. As a Team Leader Event Sales, you and your team are responsible for our Convention Center bookings and, to some extent, room reservations as well.

Our reservations team consists of ten enthusiastic colleagues, four of whom are fully dedicated to Banquet Sales. Our Commercial Manager is looking for a right-hand person, a driven Team Leader who inspires, supports, and helps the team grow.

In this role, you and your team will ensure that our Convention Centre; 1,300 m² of meeting space spread across 20 rooms, and our 610 hotel rooms are filled with satisfied guests and successful events. What will you do?

The team forms the back office of our sales department and handles all incoming individual and group reservations. They ensure that every MICE request (meetings and events from 2 to 450 people, including related room bookings) is managed with excellent service.

The MICE segment plays a key role in our hotel. We provide our clients with essential information, prepare quotations, process booking data, acquire new and existing clients, and ensure a smooth handover to the operational departments within the hotel (from the Kitchen to the Front Office).

As Team Leader Event Sales, you are the main point of contact within the department. You support your colleagues in their daily activities, keep an overview, and ensure everything runs smoothly. In addition, you actively contribute ideas for improving workflows and help the team grow and develop. In short: a versatile role where you can truly make an impact!

• You’ve completed at least an MBO level 4 education and have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role within a comparable hotel;
• You have knowledge of automated systems;
• You have an excellent command of the English language.
