Job summary

Via Logistics in Venray is seeking a Senior Transport Coordinator to oversee international transport operations, optimize routes, and ensure reliable delivery. You will work with carriers, warehouses, customers and internal teams to drive performance and cost efficiency.

The role combines hands-on coordination with process improvement, stakeholder management and project work. You report to the Procurement & Transportation Manager and contribute to continuous improvements in routing, capacity

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in transport, logistics or supply chain management.
• Experience with carrier management and contract negotiations.
• Proficiency in English and Dutch.

Our client is an international logistics and supply chain organisation providing integrated transport solutions across complex international networks. Working closely with customers, carriers and warehouses, the organisation focuses on continuously improving service, efficiency and supply chain performance.

To support further growth and optimisation of its transport operations, we are looking for a Senior Transport Coordinator.

As Senior Transport Coordinator, you play a key role in managing and improving international transport operations. You ensure that daily transportation activities run smoothly while identifying opportunities to improve performance, service levels and costs.

You work closely with carriers, warehouses, customers and internal teams to ensure reliable transportation solutions. Besides coordinating day-to-day operations, you contribute to process improvements, carrier performance management and transportation projects.

In this role, you combine operational coordination with continuous improvement and stakeholder management. You report directly to the Procurement & Transportation Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor daily transportation activities and ensure on-time delivery performance
• Manage transport capacity, schedules and operational exceptions
• Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and logistics partners
• Monitor carrier performance and initiate corrective actions where needed
• Analyse transportation costs and performance data to identify improvement opportunities
• Support optimisation initiatives related to routing, load utilisation and carrier allocation
• Participate in transport projects and contribute to process standardisation and continuous improvement
• Support RFQs and assess transportation solutions for new and existing customers
• Prepare and facilitate carrier reviews, including MBRs and QBRs
• Contribute to transportation digitisation and automation initiatives
• You will report to the Procurement & Transportation Manager

You are an experienced transport professional who combines operational expertise with a continuous improvement mindset. You are comfortable working with carriers, customers and internal stakeholders, and you know how to maintain oversight in a dynamic international environment.

In addition, you bring:

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Transportation or a related field
• 5 to 10 years of experience in transport, logistics or supply chain management, including international transportation coordination
• Experience with carrier management, transport performance monitoring and contract negotiations
• Knowledge of multiple transport modes, Transport Management Systems and transportation analysis
• Experience within air freight, road transport and/or e-commerce logistics is considered an advantage
• A good command of both English and Dutch
• A proactive, results-oriented approach and the ability to respond effectively to operational challenges
