Job summary

S&T in Delft is seeking an Electronics Design Engineer to lead the PCB design team and own the complete hardware development lifecycle from concept to production. You will collaborate with Engineers across disciplines to deliver high-performance onboard processing platforms for space missions.

The role requires a strong background in high-speed digital design, FPGA-aware architectures, and a track record of delivering robust hardware under demanding environments.

Qualifications

• Education: BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of dedicated electronics design experience.
• Experience with high‑speed digital design.
• Expertise in CAD tools (Altium, Cadence, Xpedition).
• Experience with DDR, PCIe, Ethernet or SpaceFibre interfaces.
• Familiarity with FPGA-based architectures and embedded platforms.
• Ability to analyze and debug high‑speed hardware.
• Security clearance eligibility (Dutch/NATO/EU).
• English fluency; Dutch is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the PCB design team and establish efficient processes.
• Translate system requirements into robust hardware designs.
• Perform SI analysis, simulations, and validation of high‑speed interfaces.
• Conduct PI analysis and thermal simulations for reliable operation.
• Support environmental testing (vibration, TVAC, EMC/EMI).
• Collaborate with external manufacturers for DFM/DFA compliance.
• Define component strategies considering radiation tolerance and obsolescence.
