Job summary

S&T in Delft is seeking a System Engineer to own the electronics and electrical architecture across projects from concept to realization.

You will work in a multidisciplinary team, interface with embedded software, and contribute to product development in semiconductor and aerospace domains. You will guide junior engineers and ensure architecture aligns with system requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in electronic system engineering or similar.
• Experience defining requirements and developing system architecture.
• Hardware design including schematic and PCBA, plus embedded software.
• System integration, verification and validation.
• Preparing and maintaining technical documentation (requirements, design specs, test plans).
• Strong communication to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Define and align electronic/electrical architecture from concept to realization.
• Collaborate with architects and multidisciplinary teams to capture requirements.
• Realize electronic/electrical designs and interface with embedded software.
• Monitor electronics during assembly, testing and verification.
• Coach and guide junior engineers.
• Ensure interfaces between mechanics, embedded software and electronics are robust.

We are currently looking for a System Engineerto join theteam in Delft.

As a system engineer electronics, you areresponsible for the electronics and electrical architecture within projects,from concept to realization. You always work together in a multidisciplinaryteam. The projects range from developing products in the semiconductor industryto systems in aerospace.

As a system engineer, you are alreadyinvolved early on during the specification and concept phase of the project.This is where your conceptual and analytical skills really come into play. Youtalk with the client and, in consultation with the architect and your team,come up with a set of requirements. You ensure that the subsequent architecturein your discipline aligns with the rest of the system. You are also primarilyresponsible for the realization of the electronic and electrical designs. Youkeep an eye on the connection with embedded software. You guide the more juniorcolleagues and support them in a coaching role.

In the detailed phase and during assemblyand testing, you monitor the work around the electronics. You work closely withthe rest of the team to create a system that can be built and verified. Theinterfaces between mechanics, embedded software, and electronics play animportant role in this. Communication and collaboration are very important toachieve a great result together.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience inelectronic system engineering or a similar role
• Experience with definingrequirements and developing system architecture
• Experience with detailedhardware design (including schematic design and PCBA design) and embeddedsoftware development
• Experience with system integration, verification, andvalidation
• Experience with preparing and maintaining technical documentation,such as requirements, design specifications, test plans, and reports
• Strongcommunication skills to work effectively
