Job summary

Science & Technology in Delft is seeking a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer to join our onboard computing team for space applications. You will take ownership of the embedded software lifecycle, from concept and architecture through implementation, integration and validation.

Work across disciplines with Systems Architects, FPGA and Electronics Engineers to deliver high-performance, reliable products. You will develop Linux-based edge platforms using Yocto and Buildroot, optimize drivers for ML

Qualifications

• Education in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering or related.
• 10+ years of embedded systems engineering experience.
• Experience in space applications or safety-critical environments.
• Knowledge of GPU/AI acceleration: NVIDIA Jetson, CUDA, or VITIS-AI.
• Experience with Linux kernel development and embedded Linux optimization.
• Strong programming in C, C++, and Python.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines in embedded Linux with CMake, GCC, Git

Responsibilities

• Lead embedded systems engineering processes and reviews.
• Translate system requirements into embedded designs.
• Develop and maintain Linux-based onboard OS using Yocto/Buildroot.
• Create software for failure detection and mission continuity.
• Develop and integrate satellite communication protocols.
• Develop and optimize drivers for ML accelerators.
