Jobgether is assisting a partner company in recruiting a Senior Back-end Engineer with PHP/Node.js expertise, remote across the Netherlands and broader EMEA. The role emphasizes ownership from design to production and collaboration with product managers to deliver scalable backend services.

You will work in a product-focused team, applying DDD, CQRS, and modern testing practices while exploring AI-assisted tooling to improve development workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional back-end development experience.
• Proficiency in PHP or Node.js with willingness to learn the other.
• Strong knowledge of high-load/distributed systems and modern design principles.
• Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and CQRS.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deploy high-quality back-end software.
• Contribute to scalable commerce solutions for high-load environments.
• Own technical initiatives from design through delivery.
• Translate business needs into robust technical solutions with stakeholders.
• Apply architectural principles and implement resilient services.
• Engage in code reviews, testing, and refactoring to uphold standards.
