Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Backend Engineer in the Netherlands to own API integrations and backend architecture in a remote, project-based setup. You will build robust connectors, design reliable workers, and implement scalable mailer services while ensuring strong observability and fault tolerance.

You will work with Python/Node.js/Go, implement OAuth and webhooks, and contribute to QA coverage and deployments using Docker and PostgreSQL.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python, Node.js, Go or similar backend tech.
• Experience building and maintaining production API integrations (OAuth, webhooks, pagination, rate limits).
• Strong understanding of relational databases, migrations, and data persistence.
• Solid testing mindset (contract/integration/unit/E2E).
• Experience with asynchronous, queue-based or event-driven systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain production-ready API integrations and connectors (Box, HubSpot, Microsoft Graph, Asana, billing systems).
• Implement reliable authentication and integration patterns (OAuth, webhooks, retries, error handling).
• Design and develop queue-driven, stateful background workers and jobs.
• Develop a mailer service with attachments, logging, retries, and deduplication.
• Ensure observability via tracing, correlation IDs, and monitoring across distributed processes.
