Job summary

Planet Pharma is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee accounting operations across multiple European legal entities in a Dutch-speaking role. You will drive month-end close, consolidation and statutory reporting, while ensuring strong internal controls and compliance with Dutch GAAP and local regulations.

You will collaborate with external accounting providers, auditors and internal stakeholders, supporting transfer pricing, entity management and cross-border integrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• 5-7+ years of accounting experience within an international or multi-entity environment.
• Strong experience managing month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes.
• Experience supporting and managing external audits.
• Strong understanding of: multi-entity accounting, intercompany accounting and reconciliations, statutory reporting, financial controls and compliance, VAT and indirect tax processes.
• Experience with transfer pricing principles and documentation.
• Exposure to legal entity mergers, integrations or corporate restructuring activities.
• Sound knowledge of Dutch GAAP (essential).
• IFRS knowledge would be highly advantageous.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving business environment.
• Fluent Dutch and English are essential.

Senior Accountant (Multi-Entity European Operations) | Dutch Speaking

We are supporting a rapidly expanding life sciences business in the search for a Senior Accountant to oversee accounting operations across multiple European legal entities. This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in a complex, multi-country environment and enjoys owning everything from month-end close and consolidation through to audit, compliance and entity integration activities.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Accountant, you will take ownership of accounting operations across a portfolio of European entities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls and compliance with local regulations. You will work closely with external accounting providers, auditors and internal stakeholders while helping to support the continued growth and evolution of the business.

This role offers a broad remit encompassing financial accounting, consolidations, statutory reporting, transfer pricing, legal entity management and business integration projects.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Operations

• Oversee sales and purchase invoice processing
• Manage banking activities, reconciliations and cash movements
• Execute payment runs and monitor liquidity across entities
• Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules
• Review employee expenses and payment transactions
• Manage inventory accounting and reconciliations
• Prepare and review accruals, commissions and management fee postings
• Oversee complex intercompany transactions and accounting entries

Reconciliations & Financial Controls

• Ensure completion and review of bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Maintain robust reconciliation processes across all entities
• Review financial records for accuracy, completeness and compliance
• Reconcile intercompany balances and current accounts
• Calculate and post intercompany interest where required
• Drive continuous improvement of financial controls and processes

Month-End Close, Consolidation & Reporting

• Lead monthly, quarterly and year-end close activities
• Prepare and manage group consolidations across multiple legal entities
• Review and approve journals including VAT, accrual and intercompany entries
• Support delivery of accurate management and financial reporting
• Ensure consistency of accounting treatments across countries
• Partner with stakeholders to improve reporting quality and efficiency

Statutory Reporting & Compliance

• Coordinate statutory financial statements across European entities
• Act as the primary contact for external auditors and accounting advisers
• Manage audit processes and facilitate timely audit completion
• Ensure compliance with Dutch GAAP and local statutory requirements
• Oversee VAT returns, Intrastat reporting and other local filings
• Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and accounting standards

Tax, Transfer Pricing & Entity Management

• Coordinate VAT reclaims and indirect tax activities across jurisdictions
• Support transfer pricing documentation and implementation
• Ensure intercompany transactions align with transfer pricing policies
• Support legal entity restructuring, mergers and integration activities
• Assist with corporate governance and entity management requirements

Stakeholder Management

• Manage relationships with local accounting firms across Europe
• Coordinate deliverables, deadlines and service quality
• Collaborate with finance leadership and business stakeholders
• Support process harmonisation and standardisation initiatives across the region

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline

5-7+ years of accounting experience within an international or multi-entity environment

Strong experience managing month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes

Experience supporting and managing external audits

Strong understanding of:
