Job summary

Booking.com in Amsterdam is seeking a Senior Controller to join the Global Accounting Team. You will own accounting for a defined set of entities in line with US GAAP, local GAAP, and SOx controls, focusing on Fixed Assets, IDS, and Cloud Computing Arrangements, and you will work with stakeholders across Finance and business units.

The role requires extensive SAP FA (FI-AA) experience, strong communications, and a hands-on, proactive mindset to drive process improvements, close activities, and

Qualifications

• University degree in accounting, business, or economics.
• 10+ years finance/accounting experience in a multinational setting.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOx; experience with Fixed Assets, Lease Accounting, IDS, and CCA.
• Proven coaching and on‑the‑job training abilities.
• Able to thrive in a fast‑paced, diverse environment with high standards.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the month‑end closing process for defined areas and report to the Senior Manager.
• Review and approve monthly reconciliations in line with US GAAP and SOx.
• Collaborate with Risk & Control, Internal Audit, and External Audit to maintain controls.
• Partner with R&D and product owners on capitalization decisions at project inception.
• Own relationship with Group Reporting and ensure timely responses and submissions.
• Drive standardization, automation, and continuous improvement in global accounting processes.
