Job summary

WeTravel in Amsterdam is seeking a Senior Accountant to own the month-end close and related financial processes. You will manage multi-entity, multi-currency accounting, intercompany entries and payroll-related liabilities, while improving SOPs and automation.

The role requires 3+ years in accounting with hands-on close experience, solid GAAP knowledge (US and Dutch), and strong Excel/NetSuite skills in a remote-first, hybrid workspace with occasional in-person sessions in Amsterdam.

Qualifications

• Own close areas end to end with no constant hand-holding.
• 3+ years in accounting with hands-on month-end close experience.
• Experience with multi-entity and multi-currency structures.
• Solid grounding in accrual accounting and GAAP knowledge.
• Strong Excel/Sheets skills and mid-market ERP experience (NetSuite ideal).

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly close process and ensure accurate accruals and reconciliations.
• Manage multi-currency bank accounts, cards and platforms across entities.
• Handle intercompany entries and loan agreements with interest.
• Oversee leases, fixed assets, depreciation and related reporting.
• Process compensation accruals, payroll journals and liabilities.
• Manage expenses, AP, vendor bills and reconciliations.
• Prepare BV VAT returns for review and assist audits.
• Document and improve processes, SOPs and automation.
• Present area results to finance team in weekly reviews.
