Job summary

Booking.com in Amsterdam is seeking a Senior Controller to join the Global Accounting Team and own accounting for defined entities under US GAAP and local requirements. You will report to the Senior Manager and work from our Amsterdam headquarters.

The focus is on Fixed Assets, Lease Accounting, IDS and Cloud Computing Arrangements, with strong SAP FA experience and SOx compliance. You will collaborate with Risk, Internal Audit and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• University degree in accounting or related field; CPA/ACCA/CIMA is a plus.
• 10+ years finance/accounting experience in a multinational company.
• Strong US GAAP and SOx knowledge with hands-on experience in Fixed Assets, Lease Accounting, IDS, and CCA.
• Proven coaching ability and ability to train accounting teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate month-end closing for scope and report to senior Manager.
• Review and approve monthly reconciliations per US GAAP and SOx.
• Collaborate with Risk, Internal Audit and External Audit on controls.
• Partner with R&D and product teams for capitalization decisions at project inception.
• Own relationship with Group Reporting and ensure timely queries resolution.
• Support audit processes and coordinate deliverables with the wider team.
• Drive standardization, automation and global process improvements.
• Lead fixed asset and IDS accounting initiatives and system migrations.
• Provide accounting guidance on complex FA/LA/IDS/CCA matters.
