Job summary

Booking.com is seeking a Senior Accountant for the PbB Payment Accounting Month Close. You will own end-to-end month-end close activities across payment-related processes, perform reconciliations, journal entries, and intercompany adjustments, and ensure accurate, auditable financial reporting.

You will collaborate with Payments Operations, Finance, Product, Engineering, and Legal Entities to resolve issues, improve processes, and strengthen controls.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and complex payment transactions.
• Experience supporting audits and regulatory reporting.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end month-end close activities for PbB scope.
• Perform reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and intercompany adjustments.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and substantiation across payment processes.
• Lead complex balance sheet items and data variances to resolution.
• Prepare analyses and close documentation for audit trails.
• Conduct monthly P&L and balance sheet reviews for scope entities.
• Support internal and external audits, statutory reporting, and tax requests.
• Act as subject matter expert for payment accounting and month-close topics.
