Booking.com in Amsterdam is seeking a Senior Accountant for Payments Accounting Projects to drive design, implementation and testing of new payment-related initiatives. You will partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate fund flows between customers and partners and support scalable processes for future product launches.

You will oversee monthly close for new initiatives, collaborate with Data Analytics and BI teams, and ensure compliance with local regulations and US GAAP.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of Accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with accounting projects and project management is preferred.
• Experience working with Product, Data Analytics/Technical Accounting teams.
• Problem solving, solution-oriented, self-motivated and result-driven is essential.
• Ability to grasp technical design and simplify them into understandable concepts.
• Proactive self-starter, resourceful with strong work ethic and willingness to grow.
• Strong IT experience in financial systems, SAP S/4 Hana preferred.

Responsabilités

• Own the discovery, design, implementation, testing and aftercare of new business initiatives from an accounting standpoint, focusing on long-term scalability.
• Define and influence process flows and design that supports all Accounting requirements.
• Solve key accounting and implementation challenges and serve as a subject matter expert to the wider accounting team.
• Collaborate with Data Analytics and BI teams to design, implement and test reporting for new initiatives used in monthly close.
• Attend and lead meetings; document all process flows.
• Identify and support continuous operational process improvements to existing processes.
• Act as a proactive learner and knowledge seeker.
