Job summary

Booking.com is seeking a Senior Accountant for Payments Accounting Projects in Amsterdam. You will drive discovery, design, and implementation of high-impact initiatives, focusing on scalable accounting solutions and accurate fund flows between customers and partners.

You will collaborate with Data Analytics, BI, and external stakeholders, ensuring robust controls and timely month-end close for new initiatives. Fluency in English and strong accounting fundamentals are required for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of Accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with Accounting projects and Project management preferred.
• Exposure to US GAAP & month end close procedures.
• Strong IT experience in financial systems, SAP S4 Hana preferred.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Lead the discovery, design, implementation and testing of new accounting initiatives with a focus on long-term scalability.
• Define and influence process flows and design to support all Accounting requirements.
• Solve key accounting and implementation challenges and act as a subject matter expert for the accounting team.
• Collaborate with Data Analytics and BI teams to design, implement and test reporting for monthly close.
• Oversee monthly closing for new initiatives and ensure proper documentation and controls.
