Job summary

GroundIQ, part of Fugro, seeks a Scientific Product Engineer to turn cutting-edge research and models into production-ready software for infrastructure projects. You will own features end-to-end, collaborating with engineers, data scientists, and users to ensure scientific rigor and real-world impact.

You will work across the stack, from frontend and backend to cloud, applying Python and scientific computing expertise, and leveraging AI tools to accelerate development while balancing delivery

Qualifications

• Strong academic background in Physics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering at MSc/PhD level.
• 4+ years of experience building and delivering software products with end-to-end ownership.
• Proven track record transforming research, algorithms, or prototypes into production-ready solutions.
• Strong Python and scientific computing expertise with the ability to work across the technology stack.

Responsibilities

• Translate scientific research, algorithms, and prototypes into reliable product features.
• Own features end-to-end from problem definition to validating solutions and measuring impact.
• Collaborate with users and stakeholders to understand needs and prioritise development.
• Work across frontend, backend, cloud infrastructure, scientific computing, and ML.
• Optimise and scale solutions, including performance-critical components.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to enhance speed, quality, and productivity.
• Balance scientific excellence with product delivery and share knowledge with the team.
