Job summary

Lever, Inc. (partner) seeks a Senior Software Developer (Node.js/Python) in the Netherlands. You will design, develop, and operate backend services and AI-enabled tools, using Node.js, TypeScript, and Python, with a strong focus on scalable RESTful APIs and distributed systems.

You will own architectural decisions, mentor teammates, and collaborate with AI engineers, product, frontend, QA, DevOps, and external partners in a remote-first, Europe-wide team.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience designing, building, and operating production-grade web services.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Experience with Node.js, TypeScript, Express or NestJS, and RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and cloud (AWS).
• Proficient in PostgreSQL or MySQL and NoSQL familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate scalable web services and APIs using Node.js, TypeScript, and Python.
• Lead AI-enabled backend integration and productionization of Python-based tools.
• Make architecture decisions balancing scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Mentor teammates and collaborate with product, frontend, QA, DevOps, and partners.
