Lever, Inc. seeks a Senior Software Engineer (Node.js/Python) based in the Netherlands to build backend and AI-enabled systems powering a mobility tech platform.

You will design, develop, and operate scalable web services and RESTful APIs using Node.js, TypeScript, and Python, with architectural ownership of distributed systems. You will collaborate across product, frontend, QA, DevOps, and external partners, mentor peers, set engineering standards, and help deploy services on AWS with

Qualifications

7+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
Extensive experience with distributed systems and backend scalability.
Proficiency with Node.js/TypeScript/Python and RESTful API design.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and operate scalable backend services and APIs.
Own technical backlog and architectural decisions with emphasis on reliability and performance.
Collaborate with AI engineers to operationalize AI tools in production services.
Mentor engineers and promote coding standards and documentation.
Ensure security, observability, and maintainability across services.
