Partner Company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails) based in the Netherlands. The role focuses on building scalable backend services, AI-powered features, and shaping architectural decisions in a fully remote setting.

You will collaborate with product managers, engineering leads, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software for millions of users, embracing speed, quality, and innovation while exploring new AI technologies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend or full-stack software engineer experience.
• Strong expertise in Ruby on Rails in production environments.
• Experience building and scaling products serving thousands or millions of active users.
• Background in fast-paced startups, scale-ups, or similarly agile tech environments.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, Redis, and modern web app architecture.
• Experience with Hotwire (Turbo/Stimulus) and Tailwind CSS is a plus.
• Excellent communication in professional English and ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Ruby and Rails.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to review specs, estimate timelines, and define strategies.
• Own features through the development lifecycle from concept to production.
• Build reliable services using PostgreSQL, Redis, Hotwire, and Tailwind CSS.
• Participate in architectural discussions for scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Work with distributed teams to deliver high-quality software for millions of users.
• Continuously improve code quality and engineering processes.
• Experiment with AI technologies to enhance products and workflows.
