Job summary

QuantWare is seeking a hands-on Quantum Hardware Assembly Technician to turn chips into packaged units for cryogenic testing. You will follow drawings and SOPs to assemble and wirebond components, perform checks, and ensure high-quality, repeatable results in a fast-paced, growing lab environment.

You will work with a small, driven team in Delft, reporting to the Production Manager and Assembly Tech Lead, with clear 1:1s and performance reviews as part of daily routines.

Qualifications

• MBO-level technical education (level 3 or 4) in mechatronics, mechanical engineering, electronics, or similar.
• 4+ years hands-on experience assembling mechanical, electrical or mechatronic systems; internships count.
• Able to read work instructions with photos and technical drawings, and comfortable with basic digital tools and production systems.
• Good with hands at two scales: precision in assembly and mechanical fitting.
• Precise and patient with a practical approach to detailed hands-on work.
• Disciplined about following instructions and recording what you did.
• Comfortable in an environment that is still being built with shifting priorities.
• Team player in a young, driven team who communicates openly.
• Good command of technical English.

Responsibilities

• Assemble quantum chips into their packaging from drawings and instructions.
• Make electrical connections, wirebonding and soldering where needed.
• Measure and test work, record results to catch issues before a device moves on.
• Finish and close the package, including sealing and preparation for transport.
• Load cryogenic fridges with chips and QPUs, connect wiring and shields.
• Safeguard quality by handling fragile parts with proper ESD procedures.
• Flag deviations early to supervisor, and contribute feedback on instructions and fixtures.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace following 5S and HSE.
