Job summary

SmartSD in Breda is seeking a Buyer who manages procurement across multiple suppliers and stock availability, collaborating with Purchasing, Product Management and Sales to optimize processes.

Qualifications

• A completed MBO/HBO degree in procurement, purchasing or supply chain management.
• Excellent command of French (C1–C2) and English, with professional Dutch proficiency (B2–C1).

Job description

As a Buyer, you are responsible for the procurement process for a number of suppliers. You manage stock availability for these suppliers and optimise procurement processes, which may vary from one supplier to another. To achieve this, you work closely with the Purchasing team, Product Management and internal Sales teams, while developing and maintaining long-term relationships with external suppliers.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain and strengthen relationships with assigned suppliers.
• Place purchase orders and closely monitor deliveries to ensure timely delivery.
• Analyse supplier delivery performance and implement corrective measures to ensure reliable deliveries.
• Monitor the ageing of products in stock.
• Coordinate advance delivery notifications with the external warehouse to ensure the efficient receipt and storage of goods.
• Implement improvements to the procurement process and contribute to the overall efficiency of the supply chain.
• Support the identification of potential cost savings and process improvements.

Who Are You?

• You have a completed MBO/HBO degree in a relevant field, such as Procurement Assistance, Purchasing Assistance or Supply Chain Management.
• You have excellent command of French (C1–C2 level or native speaker) and English, both spoken and written, as well as professional proficiency in Dutch (B2–C1 level).
• You have good knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.
• You have strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail.
