The Buyer plays a key role within the procurement cycle, ensuring the timely, cost‑effective and high‑quality sourcing of materials essential for production. You will be responsible for managing suppliers, monitoring market trends, maintaining accurate procurement records and coordinating closely with internal departments to support the company’s operational and strategic objectives. With strong commercial awareness and technical understanding, you contribute directly to the optimisation of supply chain performance and cost efficiency.

Main Responsibilities
  • Purchasing Materials: Source and buy materials and supplies required for production.
  • Cost Management: Ensure cost‑effective procurement, negotiating competitive prices and favourable terms with suppliers.
  • Supplier Management: Maintain, assess and develop strong relationships with vendors, monitoring performance, quality and reliability.
  • Market Analysis: Analyse market trends to determine competitive pricing and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock availability while avoiding overstocking.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to procurement policies, regulations and legal requirements.
  • Coordination: Work closely with production, finance, logistics and other departments to align procurement activities with business objectives.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate purchasing documentation, data and reporting.
Experience
  • Proven work experience in procurement, purchasing or inventory management.
Skills
  • Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Certifications such as CPP or CSCP are advantageous but not required.
Technical Skills
  • Procurement Knowledge: Understanding of procurement processes, supply chain management and inventory control.
  • Market Analysis: Ability to assess market conditions, pricing developments and supplier performance.
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong capability to secure optimal prices and contractual terms.
