Job summary

WLG in The Hague is seeking a second solution support engineer to bridge operations and development, diagnosing faults and shaping how components fit together. The role involves on-site work with an immediate on-call rota.

You will track issues across software, hardware and integrations, keep applications healthy, and document architectural decisions while coordinating across teams to resolve problems.

Qualifications

• Strong diagnostic skills across software, hardware and integrations.
• Hands-on experience with at least one cloud platform.
• Solid working knowledge of APIs and integration patterns.
• Background in customer-facing technical support or service desk work, and ITIL training.

Responsibilities

• Track technical issues across software, hardware and integrations down to their real cause, and see them through to resolution.
• Keep the applications healthy day to day - maintenance, performance figures and the deployment work around each release.
• Weigh architectural options on cost, performance and scale, and document the decisions that matter.
• Specify cloud or on-premises components and their interfaces, in line with the wider architecture and its security rules.
• Capture requirements for clearly bounded areas and keep the baseline under control.
• Plan development activity, making sure stakeholders know what is needed, and report progress honestly.
• Cover second-line on-call when it is your turn.
