Job summary

Wlgroup in The Hague is seeking a second solution support engineer to bridge operations and development, diagnosing faults, shaping how components fit together, and ensuring fixes become part of the design. On site, you will join an on-call rota to support critical software used by its users.

You will track issues across software, hardware, and integrations, keep applications healthy, assess architectural options, specify interfaces for cloud/on-prem components, capture requirements, and

Qualifications

• Strong diagnostic skills across software, hardware and integrations.
• Hands-on experience with at least one cloud platform and APIs/integration patterns.
• Ability to coordinate a multi-team support effort until the problem is resolved.
• Background in customer-facing technical support or service desk work with ITIL training.
• Nice to have: software design/testing, agile delivery, and military installation experience.]

Responsibilities

• Tracking technical issues across software, hardware and integrations down to their real cause, and seeing them through to resolution.
• Keeping the applications healthy day to day - maintenance, performance figures and the deployment work around each release.
• Weighing up architectural options on cost, performance and scale, and writing down the decisions that matter.
• Specifying cloud or on-premises components and their interfaces, in line with the wider architecture and its security rules.
• Helping to capture requirements for clearly bounded areas and keeping the baseline under control.
• Planning development activity, making sure stakeholders know what is needed, and reporting progress honestly.
• Covering second-line on-call when it is your turn.
